Eco mode is going to be deactivatable by a button on the console of your Citroen Ds5 or when you press hard on the accelerator because it is not essential for driving your car. Regarding the energy saving mode this is not an option, it is automatic because the battery happens to be an essential function of your car. If it drains you will not
If it does not beep try the spare key and if that does not work the car keys might need to be recoded to the car (this is not the same as re-initialising such as when the remote battery is replaced so that the remote unlocks the doors). If the key is recognised and the engine turns over but does not start, it is possible the car is stuck in ECOLeave it alone for 5 minutes (sleep mode). Now disconnect the battery, both leads and hold the leads together for a further 5 minutes. Reconnect the battery and lean into the open window and switch the lights on. This wakes the BSI up gently! Now open the door on the plip and try to start it. Economy mode will go if and when it starts.
Aug 7, 2010. #3. In my 206 at least, eco mode kicks in after 20 minutes or so of not switching the engine on. Nothing you can do about it. Doesn't prevent you from using a headunit though?
Reduced throttle response: When a vehicle is in Eco Mode, the engine will not be as responsive when you press the gas pedal. This is meant to encourage drivers to accelerate more slowly, which uses less fuel. Earlier transmission shifting: When the Eco Mode is on, a car shifts differently. It will operate at the highest effective gear.
