Thanks to an optical design made possible by the RF mount, the RF 28–70mm F2 L USM lens is able to render image quality at f/2 that rivals that of the EF 24–70mm f/2.8 at f/2.8. Hi I recently serviced my EF 24-70 2.8 1 st generation lens at a local servicing store and upon receiving it back it seems that the lens is wider at 70 mm than my EF 70-300 F4-F5.6.
